The Region:
The Darling Downs represents a region which is compromised
of 19 local authorities within an area of 90, 000 square
kilometres. The major primary industries are grain and
cotton farming, grazing and intensive livestock production.
Toowoomba and Dalby are the major service centres
of the region.
Membership:
Is open to cotton growers on the Darling Downs and
surrounding areas. All financial members have voting
rights at appropriate grower meetings.
Estimated 1998 production is 450, 000 bales.
